回到高中之前，我花了两年的时间与社会隔离。在这幺小的年纪，独自一人在国外学习，消耗了我所有的精力，让我失去了与人交往的勇气。我的卧室，我的沙发，原本是我的安乐窝，却成了我永远的牢笼。“沙发女士”项目的灵感来源于一个真实的案例：一位身材丰满的女士被困在沙发上数年，身体和精神上都有残疾，因为她的肉体和沙发相连，使她无法与外界联系。最后被社区服务发现，和医院里的家具分开了。不幸的是，她在几个小时内就因粉碎性骨折去世了。设计强调了沙发结构与身体之间的亲密关系，结合了室内装饰元素，如金属弹簧和饰边上的绳结、填充棉绗缝、填充海绵泡沫等。这是一场尊严的斗争，忽视了你需要继续前进，走出你的舒适区的事实。我想把我的手给现实的离家出走，因为我知道内心深处，我也喊救命的那段时间。

Before going back to high school, I took a two-year gap isolating myself from society. Studying abroad and alone at such a young age had consumed all of my energy and discouraged me to socialize with people. My bedroom, my sofa, which serve as my comfort zone, had become my eternal prison. The Sofa Lady project was inspired by a real-life case: A plump lady who was entrapped in her couch for years being physically and mentally disabled, as her body flesh was attached to the sofa which prevented her to connect with the outside world. She was finally discovered by the community service and separated from the furniture in the hospital. Unfortunately, she passed away only in a few hours as a result of the comminuted fracture. The design development emphasizes the physical intimacy between the sofa structure and the body, combining upholstery elements such as rope knotting on metal springs and trimmings, stuffed cotton quilting, tucking sponge foam, etc. It is a dignity fight ignoring the fact that you need to move on and get out of your comfort zone. I wish to give my hands to the reality-runaways because I know deep down that I was as well shouting for help at that period of time.
